Septic Pumping Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at 434-384-1183 or CutRateSeptic@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Most residential septic tanks should be pumped every 3–5 years, but the ideal schedule depends on the size of your tank, the number of people in your household, water usage, and what goes down your drains. If you’re not sure when your tank was last pumped, we can help you determine a reasonable schedule.

We're based in the Lynchburg, Virginia area and serve Lynchburg, Forest, Madison Heights, Bedford, Campbell County, and surrounding communities.

Some common signs include slow drains, gurgling toilets, sewage odors, unusually wet or green areas around the drain field, or wastewater backing up into the home. However, you don't always get a warning before a tank becomes full. Regular pumping is the best way to prevent unexpected problems.

Make sure we can access the septic tank and that the area is reasonably clear of vehicles, equipment, or other obstacles. If you know where the tank is located, letting us know ahead of time can make the process quicker and easier. We do offer a discount if you have it dug up when we arrive.

No! If you know where the tank is, that's helpful, but if you're unsure, our technicians have a special Spidey-sense that helps them find it! If, on the off chance, they can't find it, we will discuss other options with you.

We can still service buried tanks. If the tank is more than approximately two feet deep, additional excavation may be required to access it. We'll discuss this with you before doing additional work.

Yes! We provide septic services for both residential and commercial customers.

We do our best to accommodate your schedule and availability. We often have same-week appointments. Call or text us at 434-384-1183, and we'll let you know our current availability.

Septic Inspection Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! We are licensed to perform septic inspections for homeowners, buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals.

Yes.  To inspect the tank for any cracks or damage, we have to pump it.

Yes, most of the time. While some variables may affect this, we are usually able to locate the entire system.

We can inspect the components that are accessible and report our observations. Keep in mind that an inspection is an evaluation of the system at the time of inspection and cannot guarantee future performance.
